speedo gear help

I have a '98 wrangler 4.0L with 4.88 gears and 35" tires and naturally, my speedometer is off. All the charts I've looked at say I need a 39 tooth speedometer gear, and those apparently don't exist?? Does anyone know what the next best thing would be? Should I get a 38 tooth? I don't want to spend the money on the converters... thanks, wynn

You should keep looking.
On the T/C, where the gear goes, it has markings how to fit-in those different gears; you would have to turn the cover for a change that big.

39 tooth speedo gears exist, that's what I'm running in my TJ with 35" tires and 4.88 gearing and the speedo is dead-nuts on.
