After using my 97 TJ for the 1st time in the snow.. the speedo seems to be out of wack. Any ideas ?

Check the electrical connector leading from the speedometer gear housing located on the driver's side rear of the transfer case. That is what drives the speedometer.

I don't know if this is the same problem I had because fritz isn't very specific, but if it just randomly cuts off when you're going down the road, have the ignition wiring behind the key slot looked at, mine had just gotten old and was shorting out causing the speedo and tach to cut off after hitting a bump.
Before I got it fixed I just rednecked it and turned the lights on and off real fast till they came back on. Don't know why it worked but it did.
