So i'm looking to buy a speedometer gear. Well there are couple of charts i've seen. I have 3.73 gears and 35s. Some charts say i need 29 tooth gear others say i need 31 tooth gear. What is right?

In 4wheel drives catalog (www.4wd.com) it says i need 31 tooth gear.
I just called qtec (yes i know lol) and on their website it says i need 29 tooth gear while when i called, the guy says i need 31 tooth gear. WTF is going on here?

I waited 2 months for my 30T gear from Jeep. $22. I too split the diff as I would rather be putting less miles than actual as opposed to putting more miles on than I travel. I have not checked it with a GPS yet, but I think it is close enough.

As you, I have 35s and 3.73. Switching the gear makes it feel much faster as the speedo moves quicker.

yes Mr C it is lol :D I still do not understand why i would get something other than what i calculated because its all about a ratio of old tire circumference to the new tire circumference or the ratio of the old gear teeth to the ratio of the new gear teeth. Now it should be different because its 30 tooth instead of 29 however it still shouldnt be that much off.

lol i donno man, i've got so many mods on the list. I think i might do the gear last. I have my radiator electric fan, i wanna add a hydrogen cell, i wanna try my bumper, and at last the gear.. just adds up lol.. if i do the gear then my "base" or current mpg might be off.

I ran it up to 248.7 miles and filled up 16.505 gallons of gas.
