I have a TJ that sputters and shakes when starting, but only after the AC has been ran throughout the day. It has a new fuel pump, head/manifold gaskets, battery/alternator, drive belt. Nobody can figure it out. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Sounds like you might think this is a heat related problem. If so you could try to cool the sensors when the Jeep is sputtering. Study the book and learn the location of the sensors ahead of time. Hit each one with a water spray bottle to cool it off while the Jeep is sputtering.
On one of my XJs it was the crank position sensor. Cam position sensor would be a prime suspect also. Check the ones that you can check.
You mentioned manifolds. I have also heard of manifolds that warp and leak when they are hot. Do all of your plugs look the same?
