Squeak!

So I have a high pitched squeak coming from the right side of my dash above the glove box I think, and it squeaks every time I hit a bump and is annoying lol. Going to look into it this weekend any ideas? Anyone had this before? Thanks!

I've got it too. And the one coming from the tailgate, and the one coming from the soundbar, and the one coming from the Hvac....

Try to pinpoint it. Have someone ride with you and push and pull various parts (door, glove box, dash, window frame, etc) while you drive over bumps. That's what I had to do to finally pinpoint a rattle I had. I would have sworn it was my tailgate, but it ended up being a loose rear shock.

There are 4 studs and 4 bolts that hold the metal part of the front dash to the body that you'll see when you remove the top cover, right next to windshield. In my LJ, only two on the sides had nuts on them, and 2 middle ones did not. When I'd hit a bump, metal on metal would make high pitch sound. Threw a washer and a nut on them - went away. Check those, may or may not be the issue.

Funny, after 11 years of no squeaks I have one now too!!! It's like there is some evil bird in my jeep that I can't pinpoint. I was waiting for it to warm up a bit to put the top down to see if it was the softtop hardware but I will check the dash first. Thanks nissantec/barsse.

I have that annoying squeak too. Have no idea what's causing it yet but is probably something along the lines that barsse said. My solution for now is just cranking up my sound system, problem solved haha
