I have a 2004 wrangler X I6 5sp and since I bought it back in February anytime I put the heater on or fan (no ac) I get an annoying squealing sound from the passenger side. It's starting to drive me crazy and wanted to see if anyone else had a similar issue? Thanks
Could be something got sucked into the HVAC system's fan through the exterior windshield HVAC input air duct, or perhaps the fan's motor bushing is going bad.
I have had that too, I believe the motor bearings/bushings have gone dry, the fans are not "User Serviceable" about the only fix is to swap it out, auto stores sell them as do Junk yards.
Sorry for the late response been busy with work. Checked it this morning and it does it on all temp settings and vent settings. Funny thing is sometimes it's louder then other times and sometimes nothing. Thanks for the replys
Thought I'd update this thread. So I took my blower motor off (super easy in an 04) and to my surprise the fan was loaded with debris. There was leaves, pine needles and other crap lol. I cleaned it and re installed the motor and the noise is gone.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
