Squeek Squeek

I think I need new front wheel bearings. How hard to do any instructions? Never done a 4wd before. Got 140K on the clock. Thanks for the help.

I'm in the same boat. My ps front wheel makes noise at slow speed and I hate it. Time to figure out what it is and fix it.

About as simple as it gets. Remove brakes. Remove nut from end of axle. Then bolts on back side of steering knuckle. I think it is three 12 point bolts. Hub will hopefully slide right out.

Make sure it is not the angry birds before you replace the front hub. A bad u-joint on the drive shaft can sometimes be mistaken for a bad wheel hub. Do a search on angry birds to rule that out first.

For a write up on how to remove the ebaring assembly check here: D-30 Axle Shaft Removal - 1

For the Drive Shaft U-Joint replacements check here: U-Joint Replacement - 1

Both are jobs you can do in your garage (or driveway) with common hand tools...

Perfect. I may just do both while I am at it. 140K time for maintenance.

read the writeup. Do I actually have to pull the axle to replace the bearings of once I take the hub off am I all set from there?

Looks like they are not serviceable and I have to replace the entire assembly

Yes, it's a hub/ bearing assembly. If you're going to pull them off, you might want to have a couple front axle u-joints on hand as well

Well I did some troubleshooting tonight. My left calaper is stuck and the rotor is real pitted. Starting there.

replaced rotors, pads and calipers. I think it is fixed.
