Squeeking noise from front

Hello every one. I have a squeaking noise that seems to be coming from the front somewhere. It starts after it is warmed up. Also it only does it while moving so I'm thinking that it is not engine related. I know I am due for the diff. And t-case fluid change, could that be causing it? Any other suggestions? Thanks

Hi. I had a similar noise from my 97 TJ and it turned out the noise was the center hood latch rubbing against the plate it locks against. Hence the noise is only heard when moving and is completely independent of engine speed.

I fix this by coating the latch and plate with some never seize -- any heavy grease should work well. I have to reapply it every month or so depending on weather etc.

BTW This is my first post despite being a member (reader?) for over a year. I will "introduce" myself in the forum soon also.

Squeaks when it moves....

Can you reproduce the noise with the vehicle off and maybe standing on the bumper and shaking the vehicle?

I had a noise that would only do it when it was moving, only at low speeds, and only going over bumps. I was able to find the problem by crawling under it and putting some force, like my feet or hands, on the side steps or the bumpers and crawling around until I found the general area it came from. Then I had someone stand on the side steps or the bumper and rock the vehicle until I pinpointed where it came from. also, mine would only do it if the vehicle was sitting a certain way, like the wheels were turned a certain direction.

Thanks but it squeaks in tune with tire rotation. It's in the shop now. I'll let you know what it is if they find it

Haven't found it yet. Changed the duffs and t-case fluids, that helped alot but still not totally gone. Needs upper ball joints and shocks. Ordered rancho rs9000xl's for it. Still debating on doing the ball joints myself or not. Goes back to cold, ice and most importantly experience! Hopefully it stops after all that! I'm running out of$$$$
