Starter?

I have an 04 Wrangler with a 4.0L in it. Yesterday tried starting it and all I heard was one click and nothing happens, the engine didn't try to turn over or anything. Had the battery tested and it has 12.5 volts and plenty CCA. Is this a typical symptom of starter issues?

Tapped it with a hammer and it started twice in a row. Should I get a new one or could it be something else?

Yea sounds like starter is on it's way out. Most likely the spur gear in starter is not engaging.

This is what i figured. Just hoping it could be something cheaper. I priced out the starters too; is there anything mechanically different between the starter for an automatic tranny verses a manual? The manual one is cheaper for some reason.
