Starter will not engage

recently purchased a 2000 Jeep wrangler sport, 6 cyl. turn key on, lights work, blinkers work, radio works. turn key to start, nothing, no clicks, nothing. took battery out, had it tested, fully charged, 12 volt. Fuse? Which one? Bad ignition switch? Thanks for your help.

Try tapping on your starter with something hard, see if it starts. If it does you'll probably want a new starter soon.

Manual or auto trans? Manual has Clutch pedal position switch. Auto has park / neutral switch. Either can cause no starter engagement.

(97 FSM. May not be exact for your year)

Check Fuse 2, 3 in the PDC. Check all fuses in fuse block

Check for voltage at the small wire at the starter solenoid. Should have voltage when Key turned to start. If voltage present bad solenoid or starter. No voltage, bad ign sw, relay, wiring. Bad or misadjusted clutch pos sw, pk/n switch.

Starter Relay in PDC. Check for voltage (relay removed) pin d11 with key in start pos. Pin d10 constant 12v. No voltage d11 probably bad Ign sw.

Hope this helps!

Good chance it’s a broken actuator pin that connects the ignition switch to the key cylinder. Check this link.
