steering box adjustment?

Hey guys. I just put in a new Moog right outer tie rod last night. Drives 10x better than before but it still has some steering play. Buddy said the steering box may need tightened up?

Anyone know if you can tighten them up or do I need to get a new one? It's an 05 X Rocky Mountain 4.0 if it helps.

Thanks!

Yes you can tighten it up. gotta take the front bumper off to get to it. There is a nut with an allen screw in it. Back the nut lose and adjust the allen 1/8-1.4 of a turn clockwise. then test drive it. You want a small amount of play. With 0 play you will not return to center and you will eat up the gears.

Again 1/4 turn at a time is a big change so be easy on it.

on my 04 I only had to remove the plastic piece on top of the bumper that says "jeep". Took out the four bolts, removed the Jeep piece and I had access to the box and then adjusted as Mike stated
