Steering Problems

Hello.

I friend bougth a used 2003 2.4L TJ. The only modification is a 4" lift and 285/75R16 (33x10.5x16) tires. He still has the stock CAs and track bars.

Itīs nearly impossible to drive wit this TJ faster than about 35 mph. It pulls to the left and the right.

Could that be caused by a bad caster angle?
What else could be the reason for that?

The tie-rod ends are ok. The CS bushings are ok, the TB is ok and teh tires are balanced.

I have 4.5" of lift and also the stock CAs and TBs and I donīt have such a problem. Only when there are deep ruts on the road.

Thanks for your help.

maybe a poorly designed lift?

i know for a fact my girls jeep handled horribly.. heck the dealership even installed the lift on the jeep.. her jeep can go about 60 but it starts getting shaky after 45.. and it pulls to the left from 20+ mph

That doesn't sound right. If the Jeep was aligned properly and all the steering and suspension components are in good working order, it should not pull.

I'm thinking perhaps he has a problem with the power steering. Do you recall if the action (tension) on the steering is smooth or erratic? My point, if the system is low on fluid, air bubble in the lines, cylinder leaking, the steering system can produce uneven pressure and cause unpredictable/uncontrolled operation.
