Stereo upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade my stereo in my tj. I have my soundbar with kickers and stock speakers In the front. It sounds like I have a lot of treble and mid. But the speakers wont handle the bass very well especially when you turn up the volume. Was looking to put a new center console in with sub. But don't want to spend 2-300 on it. I'm on a budget. Anyone have ideas? I don't want to do the backseat subs my seat goes in and out every other week it seems. I need some advice.

Thanks!

The stock console sub is not woth it. There are a number of compact powered subs out there that can fit under a seat (front or back) I have a Kenwood SW10 in the TJ under the rear seat bolted to the floor and a Sound Ordinance in my Mustang. Both with the same head unit. I like the Bass much better from the Sound Ordinance.

Is that sw10 worth it. I've been looking at a mix between 8" kicker shallow and I already have a compact amp. But I've heard good and bad about them powered subs

I've had the SW10 (and previously a SW1) in the TJ for 5 years and liked it but I just got the Sound Ordinance and again, think it is better. I do not know anything about the Kicker. Will it fit under a seat?

Note I originally had the SW1 under my drivers seat but after a week or two of thumping on my ass, it went under the rear seat. Just FYI if you are thinking on putting it up front.

What product was it from sound ordnance. Was it the slim or the box one?

Sound Ordnance™ B-8PT 120-watt compact powered subwoofer at Crutchfield.com The only thing I did not like is that there is no mounting hardware (The SW10 has brackets that attach to the enclosure) For the SO there is a single bolt in the bottom that looks like it screws into the back of the woofer. I got a longer bolt. In my Mustang, it is mounted to an interior trim panel in the hatch so I went through the back of the trim to mount the enclosure.

A slim box in the trunk does wonders. I have 1 ten inch subs, only takes up a little less than half my trunk room, and completely changes my sound

Do you think it sounded good enough on its own or would my 650watt amp make everything sound better. I have an aftermarket deck.

"I" think it is good enough but I have not played with amps so I can't tell you if it is good enough for you.
