Stiff Suspension

Well this is my first actual post so here it goes....'

I have a 02 Wrangler X, 4.0L, manual 5 speed, 33" Nitto AT, and a 3" body lift, Not a daily driver---I know my trusty Lego with wheels isn't built for speed nor for comfort but I would l would like to increase the comfort side of my ride. It is currently dressed out with stock shocks and it gets little to no mud baths. What would you jeep veterans out there recommend for a more plush ride? I don't expect it to ride like a cadillac but I would like be able not have the fear of being ejected from hitting road obsticles or speed bumps. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have heard very good thinks about OME shocks, but I would let someone else chime in.

Lowering your tire pressure a few psis will help, but it will decrease fuel economy and wear out your tires quicker

I'd first verify your tires aren't overinflated, as commonly happens when they're installed. Too many dumba$$ tire jocks think they're supposed to inflate tires to the pressure molded onto the sidewall which is incorrect. Your 33" tires should be no higher than about 28 psi.

Then better riding shocks would be the best thing to making it ride better. JCS05Rubi's comment on OME shocks have a great reputation for a very good ride is right on.

A good set of shock will compliment the lower tire pressures, I like RE monotubes shocks they are soft and smooth.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll check the tire pressure and start pricing some shocks.

Kits from Full Traction and OME come with soft springs. Also getting a soft set of shocks valved for a light weight jeep or adjustable shocks might help. good luck.
