Stock gear ratio...

Can anyone enlighten me on what the stock gear ratio of an 02 Wrangler with D30/35's would be? I've got 33"s coming in the mail and I wanted to see how long I could survive on the stock ratio until I can find someone that can regear it for me, but alas I don't know what the stock ratio is.

What transmission do you have? The easiest way would be to look at the tag on the axle though...

Ditto.. 4 banger came with the 4.10's. To get your gears back after installing 33's you'll need 4.88's.

Awesome, thanks guys. How hard do you think she'll run with the 4.10s in it for now? I won't be running them for long, but I'd like to know for the time being.

Some people do it until they can get them change. It will be even slower and your be running higher rpm's.

How long are you going to be waiting on a gear swap?

You can always wait until you get the gears in to put the tires on.

ive got a 97 6cyl 5spd, and I have 33's with a stock gearing and it sucks. What gear should I go with? Im not off roading much with it, I just need a gear that can atleast get me up hills on the highway in 5th gear without slowing down to about 50mph?

4.56 is a great all-around ratio for 33" tires when you have the 4.0L engine and 5-speed. Years ago, I made the mistake of regearing to only 4.10 when I was running 33" tires and afterwards, immediately regretted not having regeared to 4.56 like all my friends recommended.

I too have a 4 banger and regeard to 4.88. Currently I'm only running 31s (waiting for the lift for the 33s). I would recommend going with 4.56 gears. The 4.88s limit your speed on the highway. Right now, at 60 MPH, I'm at 3000 RPM.
