strange noise while driving????

My jeep starting having this weird noise when driving. It whines and clicks like a card in a spoke wheel. The noise accelerates when driving faster, but it isn't related to the acceleration. (when I push on the gas in nuetral the sound does not increase). Any thoughts on what this could be? I bought the jeep in January used from a dealership. It is a 2005 Rubicon. Help, please... Thanks in advance.

Haha that's funny.

Maybe something did get in there. I've seen it before. Try to figure out what wheel it's coming from and pull it off. It might be a stick or something jammed somewhere lol!

If worse comes to worse, just turn the radio up lol!

Nah, I'm thinking something is jammed in there, or something came loose and is rubbing the wheel.
Yeah, I'd stop playing around with that. It looks expensive.

Jack up the wheels, and spin them. find the one making the noise. Any vibration with this noise?
If you find a wheel that is making the noise, hold onto the spring with one hand while spinning the wheel with another. if the spring vibrates look strongly at the wheel bearings.

If none are making the noise, look at the drive shafts/u joints. See if the u joints have any play.

Now for the "I'm trying to help" disclaimer-

"I'm sure there are more possibilities as to the cause of this problem, this is not intended to be a "certain fix". its purely a suggestion, as to the first few things I'd look into if the problem were on my jeep."

thanks everyone... I agree that it is probably something stuck somewhere... It is intermittent. Just when I think the noise is gone... It comes back. thanks again. Will keep searching.

Note: no vibration with noise.

He He - I had a screaming sort of noise when rock crawling every time it got a little scary.

The cure - I told my wife to do like I do - just close her eyes.

No more noise.
It's no wonder the country is falling apart - stupidity abounds!

Make sure you are fully disengaged from 4wheel drive. How to do that, I don't know, other than making sure the lever is pushed all the way down. It may be out of adustment though. Just a thought.

At some point during jeep ownership, you will BUST A NUT!!!
