Strange Squeal when turning... any ideas?

I just got my Jeep from the dealership after having a new steering damper put on, along with a new TPS.

Whenever I turn, at lower speeds, about a 3/4 or more turn, there is this strange "squeal" from the front of the Jeep. I know a lot of the things it could be, but without a lift or anything I can't check it out right now... I was just wondering if any of you other Jeepers had a similar experience and what the problem was.

I will probably take it back to the dealership in a couple of days if it doesn't go away... I was thinking it might be the new damper needing some break in time or something since it didn't do this before they repaired it. I don't even know if the damper needs that, to be honest. Also, I'm not having any problems steering or handling and it tracks straight down the road with no pull.

Thanks!

Possibly the new bushings. Could go away but if they used cheap parts it maybe there to stay. I would take it back and have them check it out.

A lot of things were running through my head. It didn't do it when I was driving it away from the dealership or I would have turned around and made them fix it. I'm all booked up tomorrow, I'll be in the Jeep all day, so we'll see if it goes away.

Hey real quick, does it squeal or is it a squeek? Differant issues with each.

Uh.. it's not quite a squeek. It makes like a "SQUUUUUEEEERRR" sound, literally, sounds almost just like that. Kind of like when a belt squeals, except it lasts until I turn the wheel to about 1/4 from center.

I would say bushings. Quick way to tell is spray some lube in the bushings Silicon spray lube. If it goes away then you know.

Yeah, haha, if my automotive instructor heard me asking such a rookie question he'd have my head on a plate... It's just been a while since I've had to use any of this knowledge... use it or lose it, right?

Thanks for the help.

Anyway, the silicone spray worked great. No more squeal.
