Question Stuck Tranny

Hello all ... I was wondering if anyone knew a link that shows how to dismantle a 5-speed tranny from a 97 TJ? Mine is stuck in gear and I cannot seem to get it to shift ... any ideas? Thanks

honestly the only way i ever learned how to work on my vehicles was a chiltons manual or a haynes manual...they should have one for your jeep at a local pep boys or AAP or a store like that, they break everything down right in there, they are pretty good about hints too

dont waste your money on junk lifts, save a few extra pennies and get something good.

How is your clutch? If your clutch wasn't working correctly, you wouldn't be able to put it in any gear.

I took it out and removed the back cone. The roller ball had some how got behind the slider rod for 5th gear and it was stuck. Once I removed the ball and used a screwdriver to shift it back into neutal everything worked fine. I need to know what kind of tranny fuild and how much for a A-15 tranny? Thanks again

Use Redline MT-90 which is a synthetic GL-4 75W-90 gear lube that meets the AX-15's requirements. It takes 3.3 quarts so you'll need to buy 4 quarts. You can buy MT-90 from www.summitracing.com/ or www.redlineoil.com/

I whole heartedly recommend MT-90!! Don't use standard rear end fluid. The high sulfer content will attack the bronze sycros and eat them alive!! No kidding.
