Stupid Question, Vibration problem?

How can I tell if I have a Transfer Case Lowering Kit? I`m getting a bad vibration from the rear drive shaft( I no it`s from the rear drive shaft because the U-joint broke and I had to take off the drive shaft, put in 4WD to get it home and there was no vibration)So i thinking there might be to much of a angle on the drive shaft causing this nasty vibration.I have a 97 that I bought used and not sure what the last owner did or not do, or what 4" suspension kit he used.It looks like a basic coil spring lift from Superlift.due to all the Superlift stickers on the jeep and yellow boots on the shocks,What should I look for to see what was installed.Or how do I fix the vibration on the rear drive shaft?
Thanks....

To see if you have a transfer case drop, just look at where the cross member/skidplate under the transfer case is bolted to the frame. If you have the drop kit there will be spacers of some kind between the cross member and the frame, they will probably be about an inch thick.
It seems to me that if you had a vibration and then the u-joint broke, and now you have no vibration, maybe you just had a bad u-joint. Replace the u-joint and see what happens.

I replaced the U-Joint`s had the drive shaft re-balanced, So I no the shaft and U-Joints are good. The vibration is still there just not as bad.(for now) As I said early when I had the Drive shaft off I drove the jeep in 4WD just so I could narrow down the problem. And sure enough no vibration. So it has to be something with the drive shaft. Right?

With a mere 2" lift, you should not have to lower anything. Try rotating and rebalancing your tires, before you do anything else.

Yup, sounds like drive shaft.

i think the 231's in the newer model TJ's must be more prone to vibrations...i have a 2" lift and a 1/2" drop and still have vibes...and i think tiny terror had to leave 3 washers in even after her MML...i'm gonna have to put in a 1" drop.
