2002 Wrangler did a flush and fill and replaced the hoses today - used the Prestone Kit (on the hose I replaced, then changed it out afterwards).
Essentially did this (great post, BTW): http://www.wranglerforum.com/f5/home...rt-122827.html
Here's the question - the coolant capacity is listed as 14.5 quarts, which means that replacing the coolant after flushing and letting everything run to clear water would be on the order of half of that (7.25 quarts plus about the same amount of distilled water) minus some for what's in the block.
Foolishly didn't premix and got about 6 qts of antifreeze in before it was topped off (ran it, let it cool several times to get rid of bubbles/trapped air). It's still full and the coolant tester shows it to be nearly pure antifreeze. What the heck?
Obviously I need to drain off a bit of antifreeze and replace it with distilled so that I'm not running pure glycol, but what am I not seeing here? Why didn't the water in the engine block dilute this out? Where is the missing 8 quarts of capacity?
