Question supposidly running too lean, solutions?

Long story short i returned a cracked header for warrenty. The guy i talked to said that it looked like (judging by the metal discoloration) the cause of the crack was my jeep running lean, causing hotter than normal combustion temperatures. This sortof makes cents to me because i have heard that jeeps with intake and exhaust work done to them sometimes run lean. My question is: To my knowledge my jeep has never had the addaptive memmory reset by the previous owner (installed the CAI), and i know that i didnt reset it when i installed my bigger (what ever factory TB is when bored out) throttle body (out of fear of mpg decreasing). Do you think reseting (flashing) the addaptive memmory would fix my problem, or @ least b worth my time?

Is it a stock header or after market? Either way if it does not have the expansion joints ( what I call them) it will crack, even the expensive ones.

I agree if it does not have the flex joints it will not hold up.I have put at least 6 on other Jeeps mostly cherokees but I allways get the updated manifold with flex joints.As far as spending big bucks for after market headers IMO is a waist.The stock updated manifold is as wide open as most of your aftermarket headers anyway and if the header is off just a small amount it will crack as bad as the 1st gen stock manifold.

No its the header sold by Best Auto Car and Truck Parts- www.carpartstoyourdoor.com it has expansion joints, and every thing else that i have read about them has been positive regarding cracking.
