Swapping out Lift Kit parts

Hey everyone. Still fairly new to the forum and playing around with Jeeps. I think I have a 4" Skyjacker kit on the 05 LJ as of now. It's alright of a lift. I haven't tested it out on any trails yet but I have a need to out Jeep my Jeep friends haha! My buddy has the short arm 5.5" Rubicon Express kit on his Jeep and I'm very jealous of his look.

So I was wondering. Would it be possible to gradually swap out lift parts of the supposed 4" Skyjacker lift with 5.5" parts? Like, first the coils and swaybar connections (Rubicon express), then later shocks (Fox) and track bars (Rubicon Express)? I've been getting lots of mixed opinions from friends.

Thanks a ton!

the track bar design, it leads to smacking the diff cover, which eventually leads to failure. the joints in the arms tend to wear out and need service. the geometry of their long arm kits isnt very good and leads to rock bouncing during difficult climbs, which can snap axle shafts. then their price, its almost as much as the much higher regarded kits from currie, savvy, metal cloak and a few others.

so performance, durability, reliability, and price.

also, they went out of business a few years back and got bought by 4 wheel parts.

this mid arm kit has only been on the market for a few days, but sure seems like its going to be a true game changer for the TJ suspension. it does require some cutting, grinding, and welding.

WOW! Well... Are their coils alright? I just ordered me a set of the front and rear. As for the track bars, that's noted. I'm glad I was told. I had a set of their track bars in my wish list on Quadratec. So I'll go with JKS possibly then? I'm looking to see if swapping parts gradually is durable without completely FUBARing everything. I was told I could swap the coils and swaybar connections first and then shocks and tracbars when I get paid next by friends.

x2 on MC, they make a top notch track bar. both of my TJ's have a front one. also on adding a small body lift, they are cheap, easy to install, and have several benefits.

you can swap parts one at a time, but everything you change has an effect, will your old shocks fully extend to early with taller springs? how will you rotate your axles? will you have to grind out a notch in the coil buckets? do you already have a SYE and DC driveshaft?

oh, and the q-tec catalog will do more harm than good, its almost a magazine with limited quality parts

That's what I'm trying to figure out. I have the Skyjacker shocks, coils, swaybar connections, control arms and a transfer case drop I believe. Looking to switch out the coils with 5.5" RE as well as their swaybar disconnects first. Then when I get paid again, replace the shocks with Fox shocks and track bars with well... Right now I'm trying to figure that out. I was looking into the suggestions and saw Metal Cloak had some I just didn't know which ones would work for a 5.5" lift.

Still waiting on dang Quadratec to get my BL in.... It's taking forever and this is the second time in the only two times I've ever ordered from them :/ this is getting old. But in good news, got the poison Spyder inner fender kit and defenders. They're at the Line-X shop being sex-ified.
