Sway bar link grease boots

Replacing my sway bar links because the passenger side is worn out. Got my new ones in the mail today & they are greasable. No problem except the grease boot isn't attached to the top of the link on either one.

Am I missing something? Shouldn't the boot be formed to the top of the link?

Dumb question, I know, but if you don't know, you don;t know...

Not sure, but am subscribing bc I just changed my links yesterday. My passenger side link actually popped the ball out of the cup. If you don't have a ball joint separator, get one(i borrowed one from Advance Auto). It will save you a ton of headache and time. Took me about an hour to change both sides.

I was just going to use my pitman arm puller to pop the sway bar off of the link. I figured it would fit.

That may do the trick. It tried the BFH method, and it didn't work for me so I borrowed the tool from Advanced. They are only a mile or 2 away.

Got home & took these pics. Should these boots be molded onto the top or is this normal for greasable links? I've never used greasables before.

They came in 2 separate packages & both are the same.

Won't the grease just squirt out?

The grease point into grease where the ball and cup come together.

The boot will be held in place when the nut is tightened down. They will be fine.
