switch in glovebox?

i have a 97 jeep wrangler 4.0L V6 and i notice a small black switch i glove box and wanted to know what this does before i switch it ?

Pics? Sounds aftermarket to me, so if it is, it could do anything. May kill power to the engine/ignition so someone can't steal it as easily. Who knows.

could also be for hte door lights... trace the wires... if they go to the fuse panel #4? then it will be for your door lights if u are lucky enough to getyour doors off :@

Thankfully its not the optional red button that came on some TJ's. you'd have to be worried if that were the case, but since its black I'm sure its just the automatic roof switch, or possibly an aftermarket panic button that engages flamethrowers.

I have seen switches like this on quadratec for the "door defeat fuse", it will allow you to just switch the switch instead of actually pulling the fuse when you remove your doors. I almost bought one recently. If it is wired into your bottom right fuse, it should say "door defeat" on it, that is most likely what it is.
