T-case fluid

I'm at work and have no access my FSM. I want to change my t-case oil and need to pick up parts on the way home. How much does it hold?

And the much debated oil type. It looks as though Mob 1 Full synth is the preferred type. Sound OK?

Wait is it Pints or Quarts? 4x4explor says quarts but I found a thread here that says pints.

np231 are just atf fluid, no need for synthetic and junk like that. the fluid stays pretty clean for a while. i'd pick up 3 qts, since its hard to get all of a quart in it.

I hate to rehash old subjects but the +3 and +4 thing. Nobody has any +3 either.

Nearly any good quality ATF if fine though I'm not so sure about Mercon ATF. If you can't even find ATF+3, let alone ATF+4 which is a synthetic, I'd go to a different auto parts store. They should at least carry ATF+3 which is pretty standard.

Thanks Doc and Jerry, I managed to find some +4.

Jerry, the town I live in has no auto parts stores and the town I work in thirty min away has 3. Other than that its an hour the nearest city.

i think even jerry said this before, the t case is not crucial like the trans is. trans atf needs the right one, any quality atf is fine in the t case.

He got banned or locked out for a week for arguing or something like that and hasn't been back since that I've noticed.

Well I didn't have a book at the time and there was no fluid in it when I bought it from the dealership.
