Does it stop when you push in the clutch? Where does it sound like it is coming from? Under your feet, or from the engine compartment?

If you have to ask what it is or what it does, you don't need it, and you will need help to install it!

What year is it? May be a normal noise, but without knowing which transmission, we can't tell. We just need some more information from you to help out!

EDIT: Maybe putting a clutch in would help!

I still like the idea of adding a clutch! Glad you got it figured out!

Your correct. It's the t-case shifter linkage. Pretty common issue. You can replace the bushing and it will stop.

replacing that bushing IS really simple. It's probably just aged and no longer tight.
