I purchased a 231 t case with a sye and teralow 4:1 kit already assembled, from a friends friend.
I installed the t case in one day everything went smooth. My problem is it will not shift into 2 hi. I've taken the linkage off and manually shifted the t case but it still won't budge.
It shifts to 4 hi neutral and 4 lo it's backwards though where I usually had 4hi, it now is 4 lo same for the 4 lo it's actually 4 hi neutral is the same .
I did one like that and because I had it flipped would not shift
However terra low has compound straight tooth planet gears that tend to fail so also look at link I'll post in my next post to see what to look for there
Thank you I will watch the video I forgot to mention the t case was never used never installed in vehicle until I purchased it , hopefully it is backwards .
Also they make the terra low half with different input shaft spline count and perhaps length for different wrangler applications so before you button it up make sure the input matches the output on your current tranny
Can also compare to your current transfer case input
Took t case out , everything was installed correctly put it back together installed back in jeep and it's smooth as can be I have all ranges from 2hi to 4lo , not sure what it was we think that rear pinion shaft was just needing some movement so the gear could engage but it's working perfect so I'm not complaining and it is low low with 4.88 gears thanks for the help !!
Glad it worked out my jeep has had a terra low and 4.56 gears since soon after purchased by original owner in 98 and still works fine just don't over rev it and it should serve you well
