So, I got rear ended in my beloved LJ just over a month ago. Ten days ago, I made my final payment on it. It's finally mine, free and clear...Now today, the body shop tells me that they can't find the body panel parts that they need to fix it, so they think they have to total it. I'm crushed. Any last ditch suggestions on where to look? I'm desperate. I finally get it where I want it, death wobble defeated, and poof...it's possibly gone in the span of a 10 minute phone call. Please help

Get another opinion. Sounds like that shop wants your jeep.

Let them total it out.... Insurance company pays you $12k (since its paid off) for example....and you buy it back for $3K for scrap purposes. Take it to another shop and custom fab the panels for $1k and you pocket the difference. Betting the repair shop will be bidding against you though..... lol

Do Not Let them Total it Out !. Take it to another shop. Have them contact Davey's Jeep in OH or the other salvage yard in IN.

You don't want a "salvage rebuild" title, and by the way, LJ's are worth way more than 12 K and there are a finte supply of them.

Ditto on being able to use just about any TJ part on the rear with some bridge metal fab'ed up to account for the longer overhang.
