The floor of my Jeep is getting really hot

I just completed my first road trip in my jeep and I noticed something, while driving the floor under the pedals and really all over was very hot.

Anyone else get this? I assume its normal but just curios.

I also have the factory carpet still installed.

Yeah on longer trips it can get really really hot.. sometimes it's rough.
