No benefits I can think of, the only thing I can think of that would improve cooling would be to increase capacity with a bigger radiator. The engine needs to run at 190F, when you first start it up cold the engine run rich, the ECU is not controlling the injectors yet, at around 180F the ECU takes over and start leaning the engine out and making it run more efficiently. Run without a thermostat and your mileage will drop in half. Both the I6 and I4 like running just a shade under 210 on the temp gauge. If you do replace it make sure it has the small bleed hole in the flange, that gets trapped air out. You will always be good if you stick with the OEM one.
