Question Tires + Gearing

Hey I gotta quick question about my current gearing situation.

My 97 has 33 tires on it but I know that the previous owner moved to 4.88 gears. From what I have read, this is a little much, at least for a daily driver.
I get a good amount of lag on the highways. I lose about 5-15 mph on a hill and my rpms are 2700+ to reach 65.

This isn't too big a deal but I was just wondering if it would be any benefit to drop down a bit on my gearing. Is there any large benefit with my current setup?
