so i just got some 31" BFGoodrich A/T not too long ago and i notice when i turn the wheel all the way to either side, they rub. i think theyre rubbing against the frame but im not completely sure. i havent rubbed them since i noticed that it does that. and i dont have a lift or anything. what can i do to stop the rubbing that isnt expensive? and i dont want to lift it quite yet. i just want that killer turn radius back. haha
Just a few small upgrades..
31's sometimes rub and sometimes don't...but those that rub can be very quickly and easily fixed adding the washers as mentioned above. Extremely fast and simple fix. smin41, I'd recommend going with 31's.

I have a stock wrangler with no lift, what is the largest size tire I can get without rubbing? Someone told me 30's will not rub.
15x7 wheels will rub the control arms with 31x10.50s. 15x8 wheels will not, they clear but are close. But as already pointed out, its an easy fix with washers on the steering stops. It looks like they're welded on, but they're not. That weld holds a washer to the nut as a stop.

x2...1/2 spacers are a terrible idea. those type of spacers would require pressing out all the old lugs and pressing new, longer versions in. if you don't want to spend a few hours pressing out lug nuts, the best way get less backspacing is Spidertrax wheel spacers, or new wheels. Wheel spacers like Spidertrax are 1.25" thick, which is perfect for most TJ's.
