TJ Bestop question/problem

Hey fellas!
So after reading quite a few interesting posts about Bestop, HEHE, i need some help with mine. LOVE IT BTW!!!

So after i lowered the top for the summer, San Diego decided it needed rain. So I put the top back up but I had a back window problem. The zipper didn't hold the window in. Only the two zippers on either side of the window were holding it in place. So i unzipped the window and removed it but now I can't get it back in again. I am curious if there is some jeep god secret to installing this window. I try to install the window on the left side of the jeep and zip it up and around to the right side. This is my dilemma

Normally on zippers, there is a zipper stop to allow the loose part of the zipper to sit in the fixed part of the top. Am I missing one here or do all Bestops look like this one? If I am not missing something, is there a trick to installing the window. It is suppose to rain here again tomorrow and I would rather not deal with Lake Jeep in the bed of my rig.

THANKS!!!

Idk what you wanna call it but if what your describing to be missing is the shiny silver end on the right side I believe the left side should have that piece too. I could be wrong. Seems to be more bad post about bestop lately makes me question there quality

Well if you look at a zipper, like on your jacket, a zipper stop is always on the side that the zipper is attached to. That way the zipper doesn't come off. I am just curious if Bestops have that same design. I have never owned a jeep before so I have never had to deal with this. I can't zip up my rear window because the zippers won't line up

I'd try just holding the end and zipping it up. Likely the stop fell off but that shouldn't prevent you from zipping.

the problem is that I can't just hold it. Because the two silver pieces are inside the zipper slide housing when I try to zip it, I have nothing to hold on to it. As you can see from the below picture, if I had a zipper stop, I could hold on to the "fixed" side and it should zip easily.

Hold by a point lower than the end pieces... it doesn't matter as long as they are inside and lined up correctly, might take a little tweaking up you shouldn't have a problem zipping up, will just be annoying. The biggest issue you'll have is keeping that end zipped up as the stop holds the end together. My best suggestion, oddly, is going to a tailor who should be able to fix that right up if willing.

Ok, so basically, Bestop soft tops are suppose to have a zipper stop like normal zippers? I have the ability to install one, just curious if I was doing somthing wrong

Get a stop and it's an essential part of any zipper, or else it will just pull apart. You might have good luck calling them and asking if they can send you the right one.
