TJ Error Codes

So, I learned something new today. My check engine light has been coming on periodically. I found out that if you cycle the key (turn to accessory mode) two times quickly, then the third time leave it on, an error code will pop up. This code will tell you what the problem is. I checked out this site http://www.getahelmet.com/jeeps/tech/codes/
and it told me what my "P0123" code meant.

It means
P0123 (M) Accelerator Position Sensor (APPS) Signal Voltage Too High APPS voltage input above the maximum acceptable voltage.

Now, what does that REALLY mean and how do I fix it?

That would be the TPS Throttle Position Sensor. It s very inexpensive and easy to replace. Its on the side of the throttle body and is held on by 2 screws and the electrical connector.

By wiggling the ignition key on and off like that wouldnt you expect some kind of voltage spike error?

First make sure the wire connector is all the way in. Pull it off, clean the inside and plug it back in.. If no luck, go to your junkyard and get a new TPS (only TPS)... very easy.. bolt on bolt off bolt on procedure with a little wiggle.
