TJ Frame. What years fit?

Hey folks,

I am new to this forum and this is my first post on here. Bought a 2000 Jeep TJ 4.0L 5 sp. Frame is rotted and needs work. I live on the east coast of Canada and this is common. I bought it knowing this and plan on repairing it. I pulled the tub off the frame and am faced with either a complete replacement or repairing it with the safe-t-cap pieces. This is the First jeep I've owned but have repaired the frames on a number of 1/2 tons. I am wondering what years are the frames interchangable? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thx in advance!

03-06 are the same and pretty sure the 97-02 is the same. Think only two diff frames for the TJ.

I think the only difference in the frames are the t-case skid plate and steering box mounting positions.

The main diff is the transfer case skid bolt pattern in the frame. Can a 03-06 frame be used with a 97-02 tub? I would Suppose so but I'm sure there are things you would have to mix and match

I believe in 03 Jeep went with a new power steering gear box. They mount to the frame differently than the 97-02 frames. I would go with 97-02 being the same and 03-06 being the same. Just remember in 05 and 06 they made a LJ version. Make sure to not get one of those unless that is what you have.

K, thx folks, I have a 2000 with frame rot issues... The only frame I can find anywhere close is off an 03... Just wondering if its worth the effort to modify or just repair the one I have with the safe t cap pieces.... I have the tub off now. It is repairable...

Hi All
I have a 2000 sport and I believe the frame is not repairable.
Tub is in good shape- can it be put on a CJ, YJ or other frame? I can't seem to find a frame anywhere.
Thx

Jeep Parts Body Frames and Accessories by Auto Rust for your Jeep Wrangler TJ at Morris 4x4 Center

if you guys can find someone that knows how to do a frame repair (a reputable fab shop would be ideal) they have all the sections to make repairs

Yea, I just ordered a front frame trailing arm section today for my 01 TJ. New York rust eating away at it. Oh well. Ordered it from Morris 4x4
