tj front axle?

I have a 99 tj sport I6 i recently blew out a u joint cup and it took the outer axle shaft ear with it. So i went to the only 4x4 shop in town and ordered a new axle shaft but the u joint caps dont fit. i went to the manufactures web site and the part #s are correct for what the box says. is it possible that i dont have a dana 30 front end ? i also matched the good hole on the old ear to the new one and its quite a bit bigger.

No. What's the part number on your Ujoint box and axle shaft box?

You should be able to look at the picture and look at your front axle and tell whether or not it is a dana 30.

I think your box is right. I think the part inside it is wrong. The cap diameter should be 1-1/16". If the outer shaft has a smaller ear hole then you need a different shaft. The spicer part number you need is 4728984.

Do you have a spicer dealer in your town?

this part has an original spicer part # sticker on it but it has been covered with a crown sticker. The 4x4 shop i go to is endangered species jeeps. im going to bring the busted one in with me when i return the one they sold me. im actually thinking the same thing that the wrong part got put in the box. or that when the part got relabeled the wrong sticker got put on the box. Thanks for your help.

That's your problem. That is listed as...

"Outer Axle or Stub Shaft 87-93 Small U-Joint, Cap 1.062""

You need 43205
