TJ hard door glass question

Possibly found some doors -- (to bring up to speed--- someone stole the hard doors from my jeep)

Finding doors in my color (yellow) was not happening so i found a set in green. (lots of green jeeps running around without doors too, evidently)

How much of a bear is it going to be to wrestle the glass out of the doors so i can have them beadblasted in preparation for matching paint?

It shouldn't be too entirely difficult. What year jeep/doors do you have?

Dumb question maybe...But why do you need to take the windows out? Can't you just put them down?

Just trying to eliminate all visible traces of green that i can. , as well, i would replace weather stripping at the same time. The doors need to be painted under the door panel area too and for that thorough a paint job, i usually take them out on things i have had painted in the past (I have an affinity for '67-72 Chevy trucks)

Better to remove everything and paint it right IMO, I've been in my 02 doors to fix the handles and the glass mechanism doesn't seem too alien. When I'm back on my PC I can PM you the pages involving the door assemblies

window glass removal is a very, very easy job. there is a great thread on here regarding door handle replacements. One of the steps is to remove the window glass. Door #1 is about a 20 minute job, door #2 is less than 10 minutes (once you know how, it's really easy.) You can ignore all the stuff regarding the handles; the glass removal is a step in the process.

here's that thread:
