TJ Manual Trans Squeaking Noise

Hello, I recently purchased a used 2005 Rocky Mountain Edition with less than 12,000 miles. A few weeks after I bought it I noticed a squeaking noise in the 6 speed manual trans when coasting between 1st and 4th gears. Also, the squeak is heard when in neutral and the clutch is disengaged. When I depress the clutch in neutral the squeak goes away. Any thoughts or experiences?? Thanks.

Personal Request, can you take some picture of your jeep? We just recently bought some RM edition seats and id like to see what the back seat looks like. We like pictures anyway so post them up!

Its an issue with the 6spd in the 05-06. Unfortunately, Jeep decided to go with a New Venture 3k series transmission (NV3550) and it is a POS. Not to go into too much more detail, there is a TSB for a few different throw out bearing issues. If you are still in warranty, take it to the dealer. They are going to replace the slave cylinder rod I believe, and if that doesn't fix it (never really does..) they are going to replace the throw out bearing. If you are out of warranty, either do the work yourself, or deal.

Thanks for the information! This should help when I go to the dealership and try to explain to them what is going on.
