tj sahara differential

checking for a friend....I thought all tj saharas had d44s. It appears that the 97 he is working on has a d35 with 373s. appreciate any help.

My 99 sahara came from the factory with a D35. The D44 was optional.

Yep, the Dana 44 was never standard for a Sahara, it was always strictly an extra-cost option. If his '97 has 3.73 gearing, someone else installed them... '97 TJs with the 4.0L engine only came with 3.07 or 3.55. 3.73 wasn't introduced until '98.
