Hey guy I was recently driving my 2005 jeep wrangler when all of a sudden it just slipped put of first gear into neutral and made a loud rattle sound. Now it keeps happening It is a stock jeep with no lift. Does anyone know why this is happening?
It only slips out of first

Because the six speed shift mechanism is an overly complex problematic design with over priced and often unavailable parts

Either 4.0 TJ 5 SPd is a better option and either one is stronger and has more overdrive then the German six speed and a less complex shift mechanism

2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Slips out of First.

Have a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, Slips out of first, and only first. The rest of the guys are fine. My wife and I know to keep pressure on the stick while in first gear. Is there a fix? is it the whole transmission?

My 05 LJ slips out of reverse and 1st. If you don't "click" the shifter right in(makes a little click noise when gears mesh) then it doesn't sound pretty. Maybe the transmission needs a fluid change?
