Tj Steering wheel replacement

We are restoring our 1998 TJ. We want to replace the factory steering wheel, but we can't seem to find a "racing" steering wheel that would work because of the airbag. Any suggestions?

Shouldn't be a problem getting an adapter and a wheel. However, if you drive it in the street and it is ever in a collision the insurance will probably deny any coverage to the driver.

You are about 25 years too late for replacement custom steering wheels. I miss being able to do this. The steering wheels are so integrated into the vehicle today that it is nearly impossible to change from what comes out the factory door.

So where can I find an adapter? The only installation kits that they make are for a 1995 and under.

Legally? Yes. Illegally, or for racing/offroad purposes only? No.

Now, if nobody makes an adapter that is readily available for offroad use you can find a generic one and modify it, or depending on your skills and/or access to equipment make one.

My favorite idea is the first one but my Sahara already has a leather wheel.

Thank you everyone for your help. I guess we are going to have to try to figure out how to modify an adapter.

Did you see my last link there? It has an adapter for '97-'01. I'm sure there are others out there, that was literally the first adapter that came up under a google search.

Not sure but you may fail your states safety inspection doing so. Just a thought. Also the link UFO posted would work on my Jeep no problem. I kinda want a low rider chain wheel but I have cruise control lol.
