TJ Windshield channel

MY windshield channel is cracked/broken in spots. I am planning on getting a new soft top this spring and at that time I will replace the windshield channel. Looking at the catalogs, they list a windshield channel but all of them state they are for bikini tops, ect.

Is this the same channel I need for a softtop? Does a new softtop come with a new channel?

Drill or no drill, which is better? I can handle a drill but is it at good as a nodrill?

thanks,

tomslusher

You need a header that matches your top. They are NOT interchangeable*

If you're getting a Replace-A-Top, which is all the fabric, but you reuse your factory hardware, then you need a factory windshield header.

If you're getting a Supertop then it will come with a header. As will most (but not all) our competitors tops.

Pick the top you want and like. THEN worry about the header.

*Some people will argue that you can make a drill-in header work. And some people even like that style better. These are the same people who like welding on their Jeeps, who spend hours arguing over rear anti-sway bars, and who strengthen their rear axles with cross braced tubing for a fun weekend project. We can ignore these people, even if their name is Jerry B.
