Trailer light plug question!!

I bought a trailer light wiring kit specific for my wrangler today and need to know where the connection for the rear lights are. I have crawled under it and looked but can't find it. The picture shows it on the passenger side, but it also shows leaf springs and it says it is for a 98-04 wrangler so.... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Need to get this done today so I can pull a small trailer tonight!! Thanks in advance!!

On the passager side corner straight down from the taillight.Look under jeep toward the inside of the corner you will need to pull the black plastic cover that is hooked to the wheel well plastic back to get to the connector. It will be a large flat pluge covered in a stickey black tape like stuff.

I found one of those on the drivers side, it plugged into it, but it wasn't exactly right, I might try to go back and find it on the pass side. The parking lights work on both, only the pass turn signal works with haz lights, the pass turn signal works when you turn on the driver side turn signal and the brake lights only work on the drivers side?!?! Maybe the other side will be better!!!

IIRC, that also requires you connect the white ground wire to make it work correctly. It should be the passenger side on that new of a TJ.

I connected the ground, and found the plug on the passenger side, but it doesn't match the plug that I have. It plugs right into the drivers side but it's not right. the plug on the passenger side in flat and kinda rectangle and the one that I have and that is on the drivers side is square?? I can use it like this tonight, at least they can see it but i guess it's just the wrong harness. Thanks

Yes that is because the driver side plug is marker, left turn and brake but missing the signal from the right turn so you need to hook it to the plug on the right side. You will find the same style plug on the right as you did on the left.

you may have to leave it plugged into the left and run a wire from the right side turn signal to the connector.I am not sure on that I hooked mine up from the top were they go in by the roll bar mount.
