Transfer case completely in half!

Worst one I've ever seen. Happened when I was leaving work yesterday. It's in 2 separate pieces. Looking like a date with the garage this weekend...

The front axle was rebuilt a couple months ago. And I didn't notice a seal was left off where the driveshaft goes in until it started vibrating last week. I ordered the part immediately but It didn't come in till earlier this week. And I planned on putting it on this weekend.... $12 part is gonna cost me a couple hundred now

The 12 dollar part didn't cost you because you could have easily pulled it loose from the pinion and tied it up under the motor mount until you had time to rebuild it.

Yeah I know I should have but I thought it would be alright as long as I kept fluid in it... Not the case though.

It all makes a bit more sense now. The t-case was not the problem. The CV joint on the front shaft locked up and that's what split the case in half. I suspect that you will need more than the 12 dollar part to fix that portion of it.

That's nottacrack. That's catastrophic failure. Or in simpler terms, it's "come from together".

^^ That can be fixed with a claw hammer and some polishing compound.

Well if it can't be fixed with a hammer or duct tape, it's probably electrical.
