Transfer case linkage, which one

I recently did a 3.5 suspension lift, a mml and the jeep already had a 2 inch body lift. I can not shift into 4 wheel low now. Which of the two should I get?

Did you try adjusting your stock linkage?

The first thing you should do is adjust your linkage. There is a bolt on the shifter rail you can loosen. Make sure it is in 2HI. loosen the bolt, then have someone push the shifter to the floor, tighten bolt, then try to shift through the ranges. Also body lifts should come with a drop bracket for your shifter linkage. Might want to check if it is installed. I bet a tummy tuck would help not only your clearance but also your shifting problems.

I'm in the market for a new transfer case shifter as I just made a flat t-case mount. From what I heard I'm going to be going with the novak cable shifter. If your installing a flat tummy tuck the teraflex one may not clear the tub. Though the teraflex one is attractively cheaper.

x2, this is the one you want. Forget the linkage ones you posted. I have it and works flawless.

I looked at it last night and tried to adjust it and had no luck. Since I purchased the jeep used I have had issues putting it into 4wd low. There is an adjustment on it I am going to try to fix it after work tonight. I couldn't get the bolt to loosen last night. Looked as though there is some half rounded nut thing I need to grab with some pliers to adjust it. I should probably find a how to and make sure I don't screw something up really bad.

Had to check the OP link to see why you were suggesting the novak one when he already had that as an option. Didn't even know they made a different one than the cable shifter.

So yea. Forget the other novak shifter, you want the cable one.

It's just that one bolt. If it's rounded you might want to just replace it when you get it loose.

When did you order yours? I ordered mine last night, I'm hoping it gets here pretty quick, I'm doing a whole weekend of maintenance next weekend including adjustable upper and lower CAs, adjustable track bar, sye, and bilstein 5100s. Want to get it all done at once since I don't have alot of time off from work.

Good call. You would've ended up with the Novak shifter eventually even if the stock linkage had worked OK.

I'm guessing you have a t-case drop. Add into that mix the 2" body lift and you're pulling the tub and t-case apart 3" or more. Your linkage doesn't like that. I'd suggest dropping down to a 1" body lift and losing the t-case drop or, better, yet, tucking the belly up.

I heard Savvy wasn't gonna be shipping any til today or something like that...thought I read that in a post on here. My guess is everyone is short on em and Novak was backed up and had to crank a bunch more out. I know when I ordered mine, Novak was still working on the design. Due to me and a few others having issues with adjustments (oddball Jeeps), they changed their design a little to make them a little more adjustable for any future customers with oddball Jeeps like ours. So they're constantly changing them and improving upon them.

orded my Novak from savvy on monday. I called them today asking why it hasnt been shipped out yet. I am not sure who I spoke too today but he was polite. He said they have all been out town for the pass two weeks (I assume it was of KOH). He also said that he was catching up on orders and that mine will be shipped out on tuesday. I am in no hurry really no wheeling going on right now.

I saw this thread and I need new transfer case linkage on my '98. The stock linkage was trashed when I had to remove it to get the body off. It had seen a lot of salt water from the beach and I had to cut the torque shaft bracket out with a grinder.

So who likes the Terra Flex and who likes the Novak? My '98 has a new 1" body lift in addition to the 3" Zone lift that was already on it. The Terra Flex is about half the cost.

Neither one. get the Novak Cable shift linkage for $30 less than the hard linkage. It works much better in lift and tummy tuck situations and works very very smooth. Novak Transfer Case Shifter 231

They jump to Novak because it's a fine piece of engineering, and because it's a cable so that the operation of it isn't dependent on the height of the transfer case

Two completely different products. I'll still take the Novak cable every single time.
