Transfer Skid Plate Rust Prevention

This weekend I dropped my skid plate to repair leaky transmission pan. Not a fun task but I did what i had to do. I had to Heli-Coiled two bolts on the back side of the pan to fix the leak. The frame and the skid plate both had some rust issues so I cleaned all the rust, applied some rust treatment and repainted where the two bolt together. Is this sufficient to prevent frame rot or do I need to take more measures to prevent any further issues. I was thinking about taking some liquid gasket and sealing the connection basically making a gasket to keep water from getting in. I'm waiting on the replacement Nutserts today and plan on having Jolene up and running tonight.

Just wondering if anyone has thought of this or if it will create more problems down the road?

Wash the frame inside and out every month and after you go wheeling and use a steady flow with a garden hose from front to back then back to front and when the water that comes out is clean from both directions you are done. Don't power wash the inside just use the hose for a good 10 to 30 minutes. After you get it really clean paint it and then paint it again and again.
It's a never ending battle and be thankful you are not in a rust belt where it destroys the frame in no time at all.
If you can't keep 100% of the water and dirt out off there then don't seal it or it will rot from the inside out and you won't know it's bad until it breaks. Don't use any kind of foam spray because that retains moisture and speeds up the rusting process.
