Rebuild the one you got. If you feel like the drive I can tell you about the place I'm trying when I get my jeep back. Your not way to far from Indiana.

Since you have mechanical experience have you thought about getting a Chrysler Service manual for your jeep? I got mine from a dealership that was closing for $30. I saw them on eBay the other day for $35. It shows a lot of tranny repair stuff.

I'll have to check that out. The haynes manual just tells you to take it in for service. What a joke.

Its an hour drive but its worth it.
that is too cheap if you ask me. cheapest doesn't always mean good. and 5 days? it takes about 4 hrs to remove and replace the trans, and at least that in rebuild time, 8hrs in labor + cost in parts and fluid $500 is just too cheap for a reputable place to do business.

I have a friend who used them before. The 5 days is because they have so many to do. They do a ton of trannies. They may have it done sooner, 5 days is the max. Every now and then some people have had to take it back for the warranty. But the rebuild the whole thing again if it comes back. I wouldn't take it there if I didn't have a few people who tried it first.
