Transmission noise

Can someone help me troubleshoot this? Happens often and is loud when shifting and even in neutral.

My 2005 SE is making the same noise while idling.

Sounds like a throwout bearing to me.

Does that noise go away or does it start when you step down on the clutch pedal? It could only be the throwout bearing if the noise starts when you step down on the clutch pedal.

In my case, the noise stops while the Jeep is in gear and moving. I'll test the pedal this morning and listen for the noise.
