ok I have a NV3550 transmission and today I drove with the windows down on my way home...normally run the AC because im a wuss. I almost never get over 3k RPM when Im shifting through the gears. I normally shift around 2100-2300k rpms. Well today I revved up to about 3000 rpms in first gear and noticed a high-pitched whine. It scared me because I'm facing a possible leak in the tranny. (see other thread)
I tried recreating the noise again in first, second, and third gear. I was able to do so by gearing up at 3000 rpms. I normally dont rev the engine like that on the road...so im wondering if a higher pitched whine is normal when the tranny is spinning at high rpms?
