Tru-lok differential

I have 13,000 miles on my Rubicon and being told I need to change the differential oil??? The manual only talks about Trac-lok. I have a Tru-lok. Do I need to add additive or can I jut change the oil myself? Would really like some feedback if any.

I happen to have my factory manual sitting right here. The Dana 44 Rubicon Tru-lok axles take 1.89 liters ( 4 pints) of 75W-140 synthetic gear lubricant - no additives required.

You do not need any additives for the Rubi axles. Factory recommends 74w-140.

You can change it yourself, Rubi diffs have drain plugs. Very easy.

The plugs have magnets on them, clean off the metal fuzz.

The 12K interval change is for towing and lots of off roading. Otherwise, you don't have to change it that often.

Also change it often if you submerge your axles in water.
